How to record high def channels on my PC?

Question: I have a media center pc with a regular tv tuner, and a non hd video card, and a hdtv. How do i record my hdtv channels through my comcast box on the pc. I tried a hd video card before, and that gave me a hd connection from the pc to the hdtv, but the signal the pc got from the cable box was not in hd. is there a combined hd tv tuner, and hd video card, or what should I buy?
