If i have regular cable and an hdtv anntena . . . .?

Question:
if i have regular cable and an hdtv anntena could i plug the anntena into the wall but not the t.v and also have the cable pluged into the t.v then get hd channels such as tptHD which is a minnesota channel!?

Answer:
IF you have CABLE, plug it into the antenna jack labled CABLE.
Then Attach your Antenna to the ANT jack or the AIR jack.

THEN go into your menu and AUTOPROGRAM...
You will probably have a CABLE + Air setting to select IF you have an HD TUNER, (aka ATSC tuner).

Then you can get CABLE and Local stations...

If you ONLY have one antenna connector, then use your ANTENNA for that connection. Plug your CABLE BOX into the Standard Video connections if its LOW DEF Cable and HDMI or Component (5-wire) cable if it's a HI DEF CABLE BOX.
I have mine set up with the antenna plugged into the coaxial input and the cable box plugged into one of the composite (red/white/yellow) inputs. Most cable boxes lately should be able to do both coaxial and composite outputs. That way, I can set it to "A/V" and get cable or set it to "TV" and get local HDTV broadcast channels.
