Question:
I bought a HDMI cable at walmart, and hooked it up to the STB HDMI connection and the HDMI connection on the tv...and i can't tell if i have HD or not.i push (input) button on my remote and switch the channel over to the HDMI input..and i can't tell if i did it right.i need help!!
Answer:
It sounds like you did it right. It's not rocket science. HDMI is HDMI, regardless if you bought the cable at Wal-Mart or got ripped off buying a vastly over priced Monster cable.
"HDMI out" from box to "HDMI in" on the TV. That's all there is to it. And you know to make sure your TV menu is set to HDMI. One last part: if you don't subscribe to the HD package, you're not getting any HD programing. :-)
I think I need to find out more about STB and HD first when I've got the time.
