Why cant i get HD TV?
Question:
Answer:
I'm assuming Virgin is a cable provider and the Virgin plus box is a cable box you're using. If the "plus box" is a cable box then a tuner isn't necessary. With that, it could be two things. Either the cable you are receiving is not digital cable, which is necessary to get any HD programming and would make it look horrible, or you are using the incorrect cables to connect to your TV which would also make it look pretty bad.
You need to link upto your tv with a hd cable then you will be able to watch hd programmes and should sort the picture out too
I think your name is a self-fulfilling prophecy
possible your tv is not a HD tv its HD ready which means it needs upgrading.
has your tv got a HDMI port ? that is where you would connect from your box
not sure but my boyf has an HD TV and virgin and he can get HD progs ok ... for all there is - i think there is only BBC HD and the sky sports channels
also his digital picture is great - maybe a problem in ur area ?
The problem is you don't have an HD tuner built in with that TV, hence the name HD ready. If you use an HD/Digital cable box, which has an HD tuner init, you will get the HD picture, so, call your cable company and tell them you need to up grade to an HD cable box. This is why I caution people to buy a TV with the HD tuner built in.
