TV Switchover Question?

Question:
When we have to switchover to Digital television in 2009 will cable channels have to go digital or HD, or does the law only require over the air channels to change. Also will cable and satellite companies have to replace set-top boxes?

Answer:
Only Over the Air... So your local channels that you get through an actibe or passive antenna will require you to use a set top box to recieve if you do not have the ATSC tuner built into your television. If you have a box through dish or your cable company they will be fine, no change required. Cable channels wont change, ONLY over-the-air!
P.S. The government has released a bill stating that vouchers for up to 2 set top boxes will be given to each household.
ONLY over the air channels. The FCC does not have dominion over CABLE or Satellite systems.
