Some of my channels on my tv have these weird glowing spots espcially in red colored areas. Whats going on?

Question:
I have a new 46" Polaroid LCD TV and Suddenlink HD Cable. I first noticed it during a Thunderstorm and only on a few channels like scifi and tvland and i think spike as well. I have noticed the same effect on my brothers old CRT TV In the past but never thought much of it .
Put your TV through a surge protector to protect it from thunder storms.
What this is, is the color "Temperature" set too high. You can go into the menu for your TV's set-up feature, and set it to 'cool.' I had this on my 27'' Zenith CRT TV, and doing that cleared things right up. No more glowing spots. Don't set it too cool, though, or else you'll wind up with blue glowing spots, especially around blue objects. Also, if you haven't done so already, do as another answerer said, and put it on a surge protector so that it doesn't get completely destroyed during a thunderstorm power surge, such as you would find in a lightning strike on an above-ground power line. I hope this helps!
