Will digital cable from my cable company make my Sharp Aquos LCD 1080p look good?

Question:
I have a Sharp Aquos LCD 1080P model #LC-42D62U. Pretty much everything on the TV looks worse than my orginal tube TV except a few local channels. All I have is regular basic cable. If I get digital cable will my channels look better? Right now all the channels except for 3 of them say they are analog. The other 3 say digital and come in a little better. Do I need to get satelite or stay with the cable company?? I know I need to order HD programming through one of the two but what about channels that are not broacasted in HD? What' Best?

Answer:
I deal with this all the time - HERE'S THE SCOOP:

YES, if you upgrade your cable box (& therefore service) or better yet, if you dump your cable and go with either satellite company, you willbe AMAZED at how much better your AQUOS looks! There is a HUGE difference.

Satellite is better than cable because not only are they already offering more HD channels, their technology is capable of continuing to expand that potention - whereas there is a definite physical limitation (bandwidth along a copper line) with Cable TV.

Customers (I refuse to refer to us all as "consumers") have been sold a bill of goods by cable TV companies. Not until broadband (cable modems) can start delivering HD over IP in a rapid manner will they even begin to compete with the benefits and already-available satellite HD product.
Cable can be nice just due to the stability factor, but realize that it is way more expensive and the cable company that is sending you the cable signal, gets its signal from a satellite dish.
Cable or Satellite both have HD programming. HD will make a HUGE different in the quality of your picture. Non-HD programming (analog or digital) will not look as good on your Aquos as true HD programming.

Note: There are more and more HD channels, but you will have to show some patience, not everything is available. You will still have to "suffer" with some non-HD content for a while.

Hope this helps!
Going with a digital signal will make your picture look a "little" better, but not enough to warrant a big increase in cost. If you want to get some of your programming in the best quality, hook up an antenna to your tv and you will be able to pull in the digital signal (which is sometimes in High Definition) from your local channels. This will look much better on your TV and it's free. You can also get HD from your cable company or directTV for a fee. This will also look much better on your Tv. Good luck!
ypu have to order digital cable with the HD service for the channels to come in good. even still the normal channels 1-100 will still come in bad until they are changed to digital feburay 27 2009
