Should I get Dish TV, satellite or cable?
Question:
Answer:
I had cable for years, but I like Directv much better.
Yes, you do lose the signal during a storm from time to time, but it usually only last a minute or two.
We had an Ice storm once that knocked all the lines down and my neighbors waited for a month for new lines to be put up. My satelite worked like a charm.
Go with the dish!
Cable is better I think. We had Satellites for quite a while, but when it storms, you always lose the signal. If you can deal with that, it's not bad.
It used to be that cable was better, but now with companies like comcast it cost you more or just as much for cable, and weather does just as much to cable as it does to dish. Since Comcast also uses dishes to provide your service.
Cable is better if you want to use high speed internet, but expensive.
You can take your dish with you wherever you go if u want- even if u wanted to go camping you could take the dish and hook it up anywhere, your service is paid for wherever u are.
Either way you go, the quality is about the same these days though (for the most part)
we went from cable to dish network 3 months ago and we love it. we have had severe rain storms and an ice storm since then and even high damaging winds and it had never gone out.
Satellite is better out of the two.
Satellite has clear picture since you are the only one on the line where as cable can feed many blocks, thats why you get a snowy picture on cable and not on satellite. If you get snowy picture on satellite, its because the wire from you receiver to you tv is faulty.
Also if you lose picture during a storm like rain or wind then you dish is not aligned properly as that should not happen, or you have a faulty eye (LNBF) on the dish and that should be replaced.
