Question:
I have a Vizio 32 inch HDTV. When I watch regular channels on the Motorola Moxi DVR they are widescreen and look super. However, when I switch to an HD channel it goes from being displayed in widescreen to being displayed in what looks to be a 4:3 aspect ratio. I mean the picture there looks AWESOME but I was wondering why it isn't in widescreen. The Moxi box is set to widescreen display and I believe i have the HD to display in 1080.
Answer:
All new HD boxes do that, it matters on how the video is comressed and what type of camera they used. Widescreen or regular. There is nothing you can do about this.
Try changing the format on the TV, it could be that the moxi is forcing a 16:9 aspect ratio, but the TV is defaulting to 4:3.
Your remote should have a "format" button, otherwise try looking in the menu under picture.
