IWhat do you think about DISH TV (DTH)?
Question:
Answer:
I can't tell you about Europe, I am in California, USA. I'll tell you my story as it might be helpful.
I am satisfied, not delighted or any other superlative. I removed cable because of the cost. Basically I disconnected my cable and old (pay as you go) phone service, I didn't have Internet access at the time. In exchange I got a Dish setup for 4 TVs complete with DVR capability, unlimited long distance phone service (anywhere in the US), a DSL Internet connection and about $25 in my wallet every month. Yeah, not a bad deal, cable was really raping me.
Dish programming is similar to cable, I think every cable channel is available on Dish. You do have to get used to different channels but it comes along fine. Premium channels are available. The only down side is the levels of programming, I think they call them "Programming Packages". I think we chose one up from basic and I had to write off my Wings channel because it would have been an additional charge that I wasn't willing to pay.
Picture quality is fine, the DVR function is great, search capability allows me to find shows I want to watch, recording can be done automatically, you can choose to switch to a selected channel automatically, in short, the standard bells and whistles far far outweigh anything the cable had to offer at any price.
Weather can sometimes interrupt the signal but it isn't often and seldom for any significant length of time.
