I am planning on ordering basic cable. Can add a digital box for $5. Will this improve picture quality?

Question:
I have a regular tube TV, no HD. Comcast is our service provider. It looks like I would also get on-screen guide, some music channels, and access to PPV. But picure quality is my biggest question. Any thing else to consider?

Answer:
It will kinda. The box will have composite video out which is slightly better than regular coax. most of your channels (if you have the basic package) will look ok. any digital channels will look noticably better. With cable, not all the channels are digital, even with a digital box. So see exactly what you are getting.

Having the on screen guide might be worth 5$ though.
Instead of making up an answer, try it for a month. That is the only way to know. I have digital LCD's and love the picture.
a digital box won't help by itself
