What LCD TV to buy for standard def signals?
Question:
Reading reviews, alot of people complain about the picture for non-HD channels on plasma/LCD tv's. Any suggestions or wisdom?
Answer:
Samsung all the way.
That meduium size white one with the v shaped bottom.
Wisdom: watching normal telly on plasma or lcd t.v.'s is akin to watching a vcd on your laptop, there's only so much that can be done in real time with the pic when it's blown up to fit the screen.
I think normal T.V. is like around 320x250 pixels or somthing and a plasma can be up to 1600x1200 or even higher soon. but some Lcd's are even more HD than that now.
P.S. if you want to be able to watch a plasma for only 5 years then chuck it out, then go for it cause that's the maximum time they last.
Get A LCD T.V. they'll last 2-4 times longer and the technology is fast overtaking (if not already has) Plasma.
bought a PROTRON HD TV NOT HD READY HD TV for 999.99 LCD TV are better then plasma
To be honest, there right. Any regular signal on an HD or non HD lcd tv will look a little off. LCD's were pretty much made to handle HD even though they make ones that are not. Even so, if you are not a stickler for high quality tv, or as long as your are 10 feet or more away, the picture should look normal. Here is a whole list of mainly HD LCD from $629.00 and up. I would suggest buying an HD for now, untill HD cable boxes and HD dvd's are released. Good luck
