Can I hook up my under the counter TV to our satellite dish without the receiver?

Question:
I have a Sony under the counterTV and it needs an antenna to get a clear picture. I have room on a splitter that comes off of my Dish Network. Will that work for my TV even thou it doesn't have a receiver hooked up to it??

Answer:
The feed would need to first go to the receiver and then go to the TV. Making a direct connection to the dish won't work
sure will.
Has to go to the reciever,, freq.s are all way to high for the TV to see and decoed.
If you are connecting the satellite dish directly to the TV, you will not be able to receive any satellite programming.

However, if you are splitting the line with a receiver, make sure that you are splitting inbetween the output from the receiver and the TV. Also make sure that you are using a splitter that is designed for satellite TV signals (which handle higher frequencies than the older splitters).

With this method, you'll be able to receive programming on your Sony under the counter TV...however, you will not be able to watch 2 different channels on the separate TV's.
