hd cable boxes will give u a way better signal than (air) antenna becuase the hd signal is being sent via satelite to the cable company where the cable company then boost the signal to the hd box so you will have the highest quality with the cable box even though its about the same as the antenna (air) signal but antenna signal can be distorted and its not boosted by the cable company
