If I buy a hd flat screen, will all the regular channels work like cw,nbc, cbs, fox and abc.?
Question:
Answer:
If you are saying you want over the air local channels, you need to make sure the TV comes with either an NTSC or ATSC tuner. NTSC is the traditional analog signal, ATSC is the new digital over ther air. Since analog over the air is ending in 2009, you should look for a TV with an ATSC tuner.
Now if you have cable or satellite, of course they will work with the HDTV.
yes
it will usually upscale them as well so it would be better than watching the same on a non high def tv. wont be high def though, but will look really nice.
get an HD i got one a year back and my eyes bleed at anything else now.
If you mean will they work without cable- the answer is probably not. Most (if not all ) HDTV sets are made to work with cable or satellite. They assume that if you are buying the HDTV, it is not for watching regular TV, and therefore these new sets do not have their own antennea or any place to attach one. As long as your cable or satellite provider carries those stations, you will get them. We get them twice- once in reg def and again in HD.
depending were you live yes in my city most channels are are ready broadcasting hd and digtal signals the little stations are trying to convertthey have about another 18 months to change over before they stop braodcasting the anolog signal then to watch on older tvs you will need to buy a box to receive a digtal signal they are hoping to get the box down around 50.00 by then currently they are going for about 200.00
