Is HD programming on an analog TV hooked up to a HD Comcast Cable box really HD?
Question:
Answer:
The Cable box is designed to provide a USABLE signal for HD TVs and SD (standard definition) TVs..
If your TV is SD (Low Definition) you DO NOT and WILL NOT see a Hi-Def picture..
You will see an improvement in signal/noise on HD Channels compared to SD channels, so that's why ESPN-HD looks better.
But the price of TRUE HDTVs is sooooo good right now, you should consider one for Christmas..
When you see ESPN-HD on a HDTV..you will drop your jaw and pick up your eyeballs off the floor (since they popped out seeing the VAST difference in picture quality)
it's a s close a s you can come without going all the way
no its the same feed as HD like sports games, have different camera views with the HD like football has an above the field camera that moves... so you'll get it, but since HD is a wider picture it will cut off parts sometimes is things like the scoreboard the channel broadcasts, but its a slightly better picture than regular cable, but nothin like HD, its not becuase of the cable, its just the HD tvs are built way different then the refular tube...
You will need a HDTV to receive HD programming in it's true form.
