What is the advantage to subscribing to HD tier package in addition to having an HD receiver?

Question:
My local cable provider will sell me an HD receiver for $9/mo. including access to most of my local HD channels (channels 703-715). But with an HD receiver, do I get the HD version of my favorite shows outside of these HD specific channels? If something on ESPN or TNT is broadcast in HD, do I have to specifically subscribe to the "HD tier" package to receive the HD signals that are broadcast on these channels even if I purchase the HD receiver?

Answer:
Well if they couldnt nickle and dime you how would they get so stinking rich.
In my experience, Yes you do to get the true HD signal, otherwise you will just get the regular SD signal.
