Yes. In some areas some major networks or their affiliate local dials are allready broadcasting on air in HDTV also on Dish Network sattelite as well as Direct TV sattelite. Dish currently has over 30+ HDTV channels on our Dish 1000 system with a 211 type HDTV reciever. I just helped install one today. The guy had one of them new Sony LCD's and wow what an awesome picture clarity he had and such. Wow. I'm sold. Yes gonna by my own system, the tv or projector and I'm set. So to answer your question YES. HDTV is so cool.
I don't know but i do know the tv's are a scam low def tv work just fine and cost more to make and ship than high def its less than 10 dollars to make and 5 dollars to ship 10
