Question:
Bought a new hd built-in tv and hooked up the HD service through time warner. I have it hooked up through the component setup. I find it very annoying that when I switch channels I have to adjust the screen aspect. Shouldn't this automatically adjust its self? I heard that using the hdmi hookup can help with this problem? Any suggestions??
Answer:
Many television pictures are still using the 4:3 ratio rather than 16:9 (wide screen).
Your television menu should have settings to convert the 4:3 television pictures viewing to 16:9.
Congratulations !!
Read the manuals.
go into screen settings and select 16.9 aspect ratio then store it-it should be fine after that.
You shouldn't just arbitrarily change the aspect setting to 16:9, unless you don't care about maintaining the original display linearity. In other words, if it's supposed to be round, it should be round, not oval. Leave the settings at 4:3, when an HD channel is broadcast, the TV will switch to 16:9, this way round things will stay round.
