Is it worthwhile to purchase a digital cable connection like TATA SKY, DISH TV in India?

As you told the cost is high now.If you wait for some time..the cost would be cheap as there is lot of players are coming to provide DTH. If the consumers of DTH increased automatically the cost would come down as in the case of Mobile (5 years before the cost of mobile and cost of calls were costly )

It is worthfull to purchase a digital cable connection. If you share with your neaibour.
Over half the channels on regular Cable aren't worth watching anyway,so yes TATA SKY is worth it,and the reception is much better.
i think DTH is good
i don't know about tata sky but dish tv is great i have that at my home and the picture is great yes it is a superb investment
i think it's pretty useful....u get freedom to select ur type of television plus no more cable guys crap!!
