Is Dish Network any better than Direct TV?
Question:
Answer:
We have had Dish network for ten years and have always liked it until now they have taken our networks and we can not get a local pkg And we were told that direct still has networks
i think dishnetwork is better
They don't tell you this but they are owned by the same subsidiary. I found this out when we moved and changed from one to the other for a better deal. The "new" one made us pay the other ones bill even though it was still in use before we could start with the "new" company. The lady told us that they were the same when we asked how they knew we even had another dish system. So..go with the better deal at the time.
Both companies are not owned by the same company. Direct trades under the ticker symbol DTV on the New York Stock Exchange and is 39 percent owned by News Corporation (NYSE: NWS, NWS.A).
Dish/EchoStar Communication has a relationship with Hugh Space, I was unable to find any details regard percentage of ownership. (NASDAQ: DISH
Both companies provide the same basic services for about the same price.
I would stay with Dish. Dish is cheaper on all levels for pretty much the same thing that Direct offers. Dish also works much harder to keep costs down (remember the CBS & Lifetime disputes?) The only thing that Direct has that Dish doesn't is the NFL package. HD programming costs should drop with both companies as all the channels will be forced to comply with changing over to an all HD signal. Right now, HD programming is a joke on both Direct & Dish as they have very limited selection.
