I have a 42" Samsung HD rear projection TV. Why are green dashes along the top and bottom of the screen?

Question:
After changing components for my DVD player (had component video goingout of DVD directly into TV; now have dvd going directly into Dish HD receiver so i can view it on a channel 002 so i don't have to switch devices on the receiver). Now I have green dashes along the top and bottom. I even tried putting it back the way I had it and it still appears that way. Any help?

Answer:
This is called "tiling" because the dashes look like tiny little ceramic tiles. It's caused by trying to display a low resolution signal an a high resolution TV.
When you run the DVD player through the dish box, you have changed the picture from 480 lines to under 200. You've also changed it from digital to analog.
The DVD player should go back to the component video jacks and the dish box should be connected to either the DVI connector or the HDMi connector, depending on the age of your TV or what your dish box has for digital outlets.
The old DVI system was digital picture only, while the newer HDMi system is digital picture and sound.
