Question:
I just purchased an hdtv and i have basic cable with a little box. I saw their comercials for free hd channels, but are there any hidden costs, like do i need a new box, or any extra monthly fees?
Answer:
To receive HD, first you need to upgrade to Digital Cable.
At minimum you will get the local channels (PBS, CBS, NBC, etc.) and those transmit a lot of programs in HD. Cox may be nice and give you a couple more HD channels.
Your TV should be able to receive basic digital cable without an extra box. If it has a cable card slot, then you can get a cable card from Cox and see all cable channels (but you pay more).
