Questions on TimeWarner Cable (HDTV)?
Question:
I have called them to see if I can cancel all the music channels, but they say they only have one package. -_-;
but does everyone pay this much each month?
anyhow, that's not the main question I'm asking.
I kinda don't get the HD program TimeWarner offer!
how many years do I have to use TimeWarner Cable if I decide to add HD program to my existing account?
I'll have to purchase a HD converter which will cost me like 100 bucks rite?
also what and how many HD channels does TimeWarner Cable offer?
Thanks for viewing and/or answering my questions. Serious answer appreciated!
Answer:
Turn off the cable, call dish network, get a receiver probably for free, make a year commitment, you will have digital from the go, and you have lots of options for HD, SD, and all else. Probably cheaper than cable.
On January 13, 2009, Per the FCC all broadcasts must be in digital which means those with analog TV receivers will not
receive signals, unless they have a cable box where the HD Program will be free. You ought to be receiving the HD signal now which will only operate on the ONE TV connected to the cable box. All new TVs sold are digital called HDTV.
All owners of analog TVs will receive from the federal government two vouchers for $40.00 to apply to a HD converter. The question is when and will it be a voucher per end or per TV in the household
Until January 13, 2009 your analog TV will receive and play all broadcast signals. They will be the same quality as always without HD Except wide screen movies will appear as "1/2" screen. With your Time Warner Cable box the movie will be full screen. Make sure you have the new cable box which YOU MUST PICK UP up from Warner Cable by turning in your old box at no additional cost.
The average monthly cable cost is $44.00 +/-. This is set by your municipality franchise agency (local town or city officials) in agreement with local cable company. By January 13, 2007, it's anticipated Congress will authorize each state rather than local municipalities with FCC authority to set the local rate.
>>>>>Concerning HD Program. ALL new cable boxes of ALL cable companies offer HD, without a waiting period. >>> YOU must pick up the new type of cable box. >>> Vouchers to be made availabe to those without cable service. Broadcasters transmit HD,or analog with>>> cable company's box converting to HD.
This is another way our federal government is interfering to improve our quality of life.
