EDTV vs HDTV?

Question:
I purchased an HD TV from Best Buy, took it back and got $800 back and took home an EDTV instead...
Well, unless you sit closer than 6-8 feet from your tv, you will NOT notice ANY difference between EDTV and HDTV. In fact, standard DVD's look better on EDTV, as do standard TV signals, as there is no upconverting. Unless you want to spend $1000 more and spend a minimum of $65.00 plus tax per month to recieve 5 channels that have HD programming, go right ahead. Bottom line...if you sit further than 6 feet from the tv and rent dvd's, save your money and go for EDTV.
I agree. It really annoys me when I get the sales pitch from my local electronics store saying how I "must" have the latest HDTV. It doesn't even look that good unless you have all the HD content to go with it.
hdtv is much better than edtv -there are more pixels per inch there is no charge for hd channels themselves
