My liteon hdd/dvd recorder hd-a740gx wont let me add my sky channels so i can record sky to dvd.any ideas?

Question:

channels bbc 1 an 2, itv, channel 4 an 5 all ok to record from but not the sky. wires seem to be in correct places. but wen i run channel scan it wont pick up sky tv. any ideas wud be welcome and even a diagrame of where my wires shud be. thank u.

Answer:
on your lite on remote control press the button source then select Scart this will use the output from your sky box to your recorder the display on your recorder should display the message S-1 in you should then be able to record from sky you will only be able to record the channel you are watching on your sky box to watch another channel whilst recording from sky you will have to select the input to your tv to terrestrial tv hope this helps

from the sky box to the lite on the connection will be scart, AV, therefore you will have to select av1 / l1 /s1 on the lite on machine to record.

The tuning is already done, as you have said that you can get bbc1-channel5. Using the scart from the sky means no tuning for you.

This will then allow to record sky, however because you only have a singal tuner when recording sky, it will mean that you can only watch bbc1-channel5.
