A question about Cable TV versus Dish Network?
Question:
Hey, I had cable for about a year with the digital phone and cable internet too! The price was great, until I got regular phone and internet. They are usually a little more expensive than dish, but on the upside, they work even in the worst snow and rain, where sattelite can't get a signal sometimes even in the slightest sprinkel! Other than that pretty similar! hope this helps
well in Arizona i was paying $69.99. which included HBO, cinemas, All star, and many sport shoes. the HBO and cinemas included west, east , north etc. but we got out because they were charging us for stuff our neighbors would order. what i mean is that when they would ordered a movie there remote would REACT TO OUR BOX AND ORDER IT. So I suggest going with cable one. They have a bundle that includes DIGITAL TV, PHONE, AND HIGH SPEED INTERNET. We currently have that right now .
Well, if I had to choose again I'd go for Dish cause:
- cheaper than cable
- more channels
- simply more variety (just as you mentioned cool HDTV channels)
You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.net... - and see what the different packages cost monthly. The Dish and DVR themselves are given away by them.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Mike
I think the satellite has better resolution, and a better selection of channels. I have cable HD, but it's not as good as a dish. With cable HD, HDMI Monster cables for the hook up make it better because it has an interface that improves the signal on all formats. Hope you choose wisely.
Dear Christopher:
There are many differences between DISH Network and Comcast Digital Cable. As an expert in telecommunications, I can try to provide you with a couple of the biggest pros and cons.
Price - DISH Network has packages starting at only $19.99/month. With the American Top 60 package, the regular price is $29.99/month, however, DISH Network offers a $100 rebate which $10 is applied to you bill each month for 10 months. Comcast monthly cost are pretty high unless you subscribe to a bundle package. If you bundle up on phone, Internet, and Digital Cable with Comcast, it comes out to a pretty good deal.
Programming - DISH Network offers far more channels than Comcast. With DISH Network, not only do you get more channels, but you also receive better channels.
Local Programming - With DISH Network you pay about $5 per month for local channels. With Comcast, local channels are included for free.
Equipment - DISH Network offers a free Digital Video Recorder (DVR) at no cost and no additional fees. Comcast provides you with a Digital Cable box, however, you pay a monthly fee.
HD Content - DISH Network providers over 20 channels in HD; Digital Cable offers no where near that amount.
