Hd TV with no tuner?

Question:
I am currently looking at at twenty seven inch LCD screen but the problem is there is no tuner on it. I was wondering if there are external tuners you can buy to pick up over the air channels. Im guessing im out of luck, but any help is welcome.

Answer:
Those "tuner-less" TVs are designed to be used with Hi Definition CABLE or SATELLITE DECODERS..

Yes, you MUST have their decoders to get their Hi Def stations anyways, so why install a Tuner inside a TV that you cannot use to get the signals you want?

NOW.They do make a Tuner for over the air signals...
They call it a Terrestrial Tuner or Reciever..Samsung makes one of the most popular models.
Most HDTV providers come with thier own " Cable Box", that contains the Tuner portion of the unit. If you are going to buy an HDTV, then it doesn't make sense to utilize Over The Air Waves which are generally NOT HD.
A make/model of the LCD would be helpful. You would also need a HD antenna. This link will be very useful to you..

Just get a high definition set top box, that way you will have high definition digital TV, even on a tv that has no tuner. Or you could always use a VCR but they are only analogue and don't have the resolution of the high definition box, you could also get a standard definition box but the high definition would look way better on the high definition tv
