Someone please help? I am thinking of getting direct tv, I have a hdtv?
Question:
Answer:
OK FIRST..I SUGGEST DISH HD because they give you HD and LOCAL HD stations also...
But, HD Direct TV....THAT's a roll of the DICE..
Before I get Direct, I'd want the salesman to SHOW me he's getting HD LOCALS !!
I had Direct TV, they kept telling me Fort Wayne would be getting our locals from satellite "in a month or two."
THAT went on for 2 whole years!!
And I dumped them for DISH, when the saleman PROVED he had LOCAL Stations on their satellite...
And just yesterday, a lady was asking WHEN Direct TV was going to put her LOCAL stations on.THREE YEARS LATER and they STILL DON'T HAVE LOCAL STATIONS AVAILABLE?!!
I don't trust them...
NOW, your LOCAL STATIONS MUST transmit HD.that's a guarantee that they are.the FCC has mandated it.
But Direct doesn't have to provide it.they are OUTSIDE of the FCC's jurisdiction.
That's why I like DISH.they provide it if you get the HD box.
digital tv is awesome! i have it and there`s like 1000 channels on it, u should totally get it
DirecTV and Dish Network both provide local channels for a small additional fee. Generally, they only provide the main channels; if your town has HD stations with multiple subchannels, they won't go over the satellite.
You don't need to blow money necessarily; you probably already have an antenna that will receive broadcast signals. Just use your old rabbit-ears or whatever antenna you used to receive stations before.
I install dish network so trust me when I tell you that Direct TV will not be able to give you your locals. Its a govt. resolution that does not allow them to be given out in certain area anymore. An off air antenna is the only way to get your locals. There is a company American direct that you can get your networks from.
