Can a direct tv receivor and a dish network receivor work off the same sattelite dish?

Question:
I have a sattelite dish set up at a campground, and have my direct tv receivor thier, the dish has a double transducer for an additional receiver,my neighbor tried hooking his dish net receivor up and it is getting good sattelite reception but wont kick on they said it has the wrong transducer on it,anouther guy in our park has a dish net sattelite dish with a diret tv receivor and it works fine.how can I get them to work on the same dish?

Answer:
You may be able to get them to work. However, when you're using the DirecTV reciever with a Dish Network dish, You have to have it pointed at the DirecTV sattelite otherwise it won't work. It is possible that the LNB's (What you've termed a "transducer") may not be compatible for reciving DirecTV signals, and vice versa. Just try different combinations (The LNB's are removable) and see which ones work with which.

Good Luck!
