To get dish network or direct tv, does your apartment need to be facing a certain direction or does it matter?

Question:
I am thinking of getting dish network and I have heard from others that if your apartment faces in a certain direction then you cannot get dish network or direct tv.

Answer:
Yes it has to face a certain direction. Here is a site that will tell you where your dish has to be pointed depending on where you live.http://satcalculator.freehostia.com/...
Also be aware if you live in an apartment that you may not be allowed to attach a Sat dish on the building, but you can buy a tripod to attach the dish on.
Good luck Satellite rocks!
Your satellite dish needs to be facing the satellite (South, think) and be unobstructed. So yes, your apartment needs to face a certain direction
