To get dish network or direct tv, does your apartment need to be facing a certain direction or does it matter?

Question:
I am thinking of getting dish network and I have heard from others that if your apartment faces in a certain direction then you cannot get dish network or direct tv.

Answer:
Not the apartment, but the dish does have to point a certain way. Easy for the tech to do, unless there are far too many trees in the way.
no, when the installer hooks up your dish he puts it were it can get a clear satilite reception (ex: tall trees or high buildings) then he pregrams from the box until he gets the best signal, and next thing you know your watching tv. We have Direct Tv, when you have direct tv you end up owning the equipment and w/dish network after a yr. your still paying rental and when you switch companys, they want you to send them the dish and the reciever, bunch of crap, if you know what I mean!! Make sure you get TIVO it the best!!
As long as you have a clear view of the satelite the dish can be mounted on anything facing that direction. All the installer has to do then is run coax cable from the dish to your room where he will then set-up your receiver. Provided the run of cable is not too long, there should be no problem.
