Can Dish TV or Tata Sky Television work in Shanghai(China)?

Dish TV does work in China but you cannot buy or use one for personal use I have lived in China for a year and I been told it is against China Law for a person to have a dish. Hotels can have them with special permission. The network is controlled by the Chinese government .You can get cable TV with some English like 2 stations

Dish Tv works in some places of China due to leakage of Signals into the territory. But in Hong Kong it will work but you cannot dish tv there. You are not permitted with dish tv STB also from any other country like India which has the dish tv retail.
Dish tv available in Malaysia, Singapore, Andaman, SriLanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Tibet, etc...
