Problem with Dish TV Receiver on phone line with DSL?

Question:
The day my AT&T DSL service was turned on, my Dish TV receiver would no longer call back to their corporate office properly. It does not recognize a dial tone is present. I have a DSL filter on the line and even tried two filters in serial. Replacing the receiver where it plugs in to the phone line with a hand set confirms nothing is wrong with the phone line. My computer modem works fine on the same line as well. I've switched the receiver out twice now with no joy. And the receiver's caller ID functionality works when I receive calls, but it will not recognize an available dial tone and dial out. This is a problem because Dish TV wants to charge me $5/month for not having the receiver connected to a "working" phone line. As an aside, I noticed that my dial tone is easily twice as loud after the DSL service was activated as it was previous to my DSL activation. It appears to be an issue with the Dish TV receiver's modem itself. Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions?

Answer:
Needs software update request new receiver. you are connected to phone line and tell them you now have DSL its there problem. See if the tele company can help they may have a record that your line is working properly and its Dish's fault. Also did you have the DSL installed when it was hooked up, one side of tone may be damaged.
Oh yeah, the dial tone makes a shhhhhhhh noise once you get dsl. I have directv, and I never connect it to a phone line. You ought to try connecting it without a filter.
