How can I get NBC if Dish network does not offer it as a local channel? Anyone else have this problem?

Question:
I applied for a waiver to WESH but was denied. I have no idea why. No one seems to want to help me. I can't stay with Cox Cable because they are awful and they have only 8 HD channels. Dish has 31 HD channels for the same price.

Answer:
Get an HD antenna. I use a Philips interior HD antenna that is amplified and it works great. I pick up all the local channels in HD. I got it at Walmart for like $30.
You can get an old timey antenna to pic up local stations and direct wire it to your satellite receiver.
You might have to pay for your network channels. I think we had to do this years ago when we lived in a remote area. I have Dish now and we don't get the network channels in our city because it's not a big city, so we get our channels from a larger city up north from us. I think we paid something like $5.00 extra a month for the network channels, though it could be higher today.
