How can I transmit satellite signals through my tv? Did i need a satellite dish?

Question: Meaning: If I have cantenna or satellite dish, how can i probably transmit signals throughout the satellite to my tv? Is trhere a site that has homemade satellite receivers to do with? I want to watch HBO and anything using these devices.
