Question:
I activated a new HD cable box with the cable company yesterday, but the HD channels don't work. What's wrong? Every channels but the HD and digital channels work. I phoned and they said they can't figure out the problem without sending a technician, and he won't be here 'till next Monday. What should I try before he gets here? All the digital channels were working with my old box, just with the new HD box they all stoped working and the HD channels don't work.

Answer:
did you use the component cables that came with the hd box ? if you did you just might want to set your TV video switch to component 1 or component 2 so it can read the right set of cables coming out of the cable box hmmm just a thought its prob reading that coax cable comming out of the box easyest way is to disconnect the coax cable going to the tv and keep pushing the video source button on your tv remote till you see a picture you dont need the coax going to the tv anymore with a hd box you use the componet cables
you my just have a bad hd box
Take it easy and wait on the cableman.
You need to go to the set-up menu on the TV , and let the TV's tuner scan the channels which now have been activated. Right now, it's just not recognizing the HD channels. It's like the initial start up again. I hope I'm right. Good luck.
