Which sattelite system, Direct TV, or Dish Network??
Question:
Answer:
DirecTV and Dish Network are tops in terms of JD Power customer satisfaction ratings - with DirecTV winning slightly.
I'd say it's about the strengths you're looking for -
DirecTV - It costs a bit more than Dish, but not as much as Digital Cable. The quality is excellent. Channel switching is fast. Quality Picture and Sound.
The big selling item for them is NFL Sunday TIcket, where you get every NFL game televised. It's a DirecTV only feature.
The weak area for DirecTV is DVR/Tivo...more on that...
DISH NETWORK - It has slightly less picture quality than DirecTV, but it also costs less. In late 2005, Dish Network purchased VOOM and now has the best HD Line-up anywhere.
So, DirecTV and Dish are apples to apples in terms of most respects, but the HD is better with Dish.
Dish Network has the best DVR system available, until TIvo Series 3 comes out in Fall of 06.
Comcast HD and Digital - It costs more. There is a pretty cool feature with ON DEMAND movies and tv shows, but On Demand is also not in HD. Comcast HD looks good, but the programming is sparse compared to Dish Network, but relatively close to DirecTV.
The really weak area of Comcast is Price and normal channel picture quality. It's just not as good as Dish. And On Demand really is a Trojan Horse in terms of costs.
we've had both systems n we stuck with dish network
Direct tv is the way to go. Trust me, I tried the other one, bad service, equipment failures, hidden costs and stealing from my bank account. Since I have had direct tv, no problems at all, we are very happy with it.
I have had Dishnetwork for 13 years and I love it. The price is ALWAYS better than cable and with the new DVR boxes, it is great!!
Personally i have Dish Network but i got so p***ed last nite when it was raining cuz i couldnt watch the Yanks vs Braves game because of satelite signal loss... i guess i'd say digital cable even though ive never tried it.
