When will Direct TV offer local channels in HD in the Richmond VA market?

Question:
I understand that over 90% of the country can get local channels in HD through Direct TV or Dish Network, Why can't Richmond? What is the hold up? Is there an ETA? Those who share my frustration can't wait for ESPN HD to broadcast sporting events. The weekends suck when I have to watch the network channels without HD. Does anyone know anything about this?

Answer:
All tv is supposed to be HD by, I think, Feburary, 2009. Right now, the majority of the viewing audience is still stardard tv. They may be waiting until more people have HD tv's.
I do not know why you cannot get this service in Richmond.
Was it ever offered before? If they didn't find enough people willing to use it, and it was a loss in money to them- they may have removed that service.
Direct TV, along with TV in general is on a path to eventually be almost exclusively HD.
Well if you want to invest a very little money to receive your local channels I found an article that was posted in Yahoo News. It is how to use kind of old fashioned style roof antennas to receive local HD broadcast for free. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/busi...
By the way by 2009 or so all TV stations will be in DIGITAL Signals, not necessarily HD Format.
