Dish network help with 2nd tv off one box?

Question:
I just hooked up my 2nd tv to the main box, and have the 2nd remote, but I can't watch 2 defrent shows at the same time, no matter what remote I use, both tv's show the exact same thing, I did notice that at the corner it sais single mode.. how to I switch to dual mode?
You can't. Satelite works differently then cable tv does. To be able to watch different channels on multiple tvs you will need a satelite convert box on each of the tvs. As it is the converter box that decodes the satelite siginal. If you are just taking the cable that is coming from the box and splitting it to two differnt tv's they will both show the same thing.
The previous person who responded obviously doesn't have an idea what she is talking about. Yes, you can switch your receiver to dual mode and watch separate programming on two TVs or record separate programs using each remote. Usually, you can find the mode button in front of the receiver, you just have to push it to switch to dual mode. Note, though, that this will disable the PIP (picture in picture) capability of the receiver. Just to inform the person above, the latest Dish Network receivers can actually hook up two TVs at once and provide each with independent programming and control.
