Anyone else notice the lose of freedoms?
Question:
Answer:
Friend, this is the same all over the western world. In the UK we have recently had a trial of a far right-wing politician who was prosecuted for calling Islam a "wicked and vicious religion." He was found not guilty of any crime, so now the Blair government wants to change the law.
Now, I totally disagree with his view about Islam, but like Voltaire I would defend to the death his right to say it. For me better to get all the arguments out in the open and debate them. If something is wrong or even evil, light is the best disinfectant.
By trying to bury debate and free speech today, all the politicians are doing is storing up revolution for tomorrow.
Get to your town hall meetings and voice your opinion, no matter your age! Try to do responsible things like being RESPECTFUL and USEFUL to fellow Americans. Usually, that's all the laws ask. The goal is to achieve an orderly society and the Constitution will protect your freedoms. Read it now.
It depends what you consider freedom. If it's doing anything you feel like doing; maybe you should go live somewhere else. Every one has to have laws to abide by. In my opinion, schools and some places aren't strict enough. Look at these young kids today. When I see and hear some of these 8-10 year olds using filthy mouths, "I" could smack them!
