Which american university offers the best, cheapest and AAMC accredited M.D. degree?
Question:
school. Please advise me what to do next, specifying Pre-Med programs offered by colleges. Also i have limited resources/money, please advise me keepeing that in mind. Thanks
Answer:
One route to consider would be the military. They even have their own medical school. Check out USUHS.
The generally used route for those with limited resources is in-state. Some states will give you an academic scholarship for a state-supported college on the basis of nothing more than an ACT or SAT score that you'll have if you're medical school material. And once you get into medical school there are quite a few options for indentured servitude, with some organization or another paying your tuition in return for your practicing for them once you've finished your training.
Don't worry about the pre-med program. Check the AAMC website for the courses required by various medical schools and get in the required courses. Other than that, the rest is up to you and your interests. I'd suggest a major in the humanities, which will last you a lifetime, rather than the sciences, which will help a little in medical school but not much afterwards.
