Online payment help?

Question:
i was applying for college online last night. i was paying for it through applyweb.com and you can pay with a credit card or a check. i tried to pay with a check and i typed in the router number and account number and hit submit but it went back to the same page with all the info erased. i didnt recieve a confirmation email or confirmation screen, so i used my debit card instead and it worked. i dont know if the electronic check went through or not. should i call my bank to have it cancelled and to see if it went through? can i? or what should i do so im not charged twice? thanks

it said before i paid that it would take 6 days to process the check thats why im worried because i dont know if it would send a confirmation email after the 6 days or what

Answer:
My recommendation would be to call your bank tomorrow and see if you can do a stop payment on that draft. Most banks require only the basic info of check number and amount. If you were not required to use a check number and only provided routing/transit and account number, then you will probably have to wait to see if it debits the account and then do a dispute. First step is to check with your bank and find out what the preferred method is to protect you! Good luck!
Call the college and ask them to check their monies transfers and see if the check has been processed electronically!@~
Cancellation charges are typically ~30 dollars. Speak to a friendly CSR and explain the situation - and see if he/she can put a conditional "stop payment" without charging you $30.

My guess is that it did not go through and there were some errors (else it would not have come back to the same page) - but this is a guess only.

Good luck.
