College tuition?

Question:
how much are you paying for college? I"m going for a bachelors, online, the academy of art costs 79,000 and westwood charges 37,000 ... now im wondering, are these tuition fees normal? how much are you paying?

Answer:
Those are not abnormal for a private school (although 79k a year is still very high) but for a state school that would be very high. UCLA has a great arts program and it would be much cheaper for you if you are a CA resident. Maybe you should look into that or the state university where you are at if you are not in CA. If you are really focused on a private education you could look at RISD http://www.risd.edu/factsfigures.cfm... which is definately below the Academy of Arts and in line with Westwood.

Good Luck!
i'm paying about 1,200 a quarter, its a tech college and hella cheap compared to that stuff, the highest price in Ohio that i'm aware of is around 40,000
30-40,000 average. I would suggest going to a community college in the area for your base credits, working, and then transferring those credits over to an accepting university. You end up having more concentrated courses and saving about 15,000 dollars because you are a local student. In the end...the place that you finish with is the place that holds the degree.
I'm in a private nursing school and pay around $25,000 a year for tuition and books.
I paid about $10,500 a year for my BS, and I'm paying $588 per credit hour for my masters.
I'm paying about 15k to 20k per year (not counting books and other stuff).. But my tuition is lower because I take some classes at a community college.

Your best bet is to check with your local / desired univeristies see what they are charging and if you can get in.. Most online universities charge more than normal because its more of a business for them than education (and they aren't worth it as most employer don't put much value on them).

Also most college bookstores charge 20% more than the normal list price per books.. I suggest you try findbookprices.com or other website to search for books you want to buy and buy the used or international version of them.. That way it will save you money not the quality.
Seems excessive, is that per year or for all four years. Even if for four years, it still seems excessive, it's not like you're looking at tuition for USC or Harvard or Stanford. I paid about $2200 a quarter for tuition only at a University of California school 2 years ago.
After graduating from a community college in Arkansas, (Arkansas State University), I was going to a private school for interior design in Chicago, Harrington College of Design, and it cost around $16,000 a year. I only went for a semester because I started having doubts about interior design and didn't want to waste all of that money if I wasn't sure about it. Now I am going to a junior college (again) and I am majoring in Graphic Design (at Elgin Community College, in Illinois). It only costs around $1,200 a year. Quite a savings.
