I am confused on what to take for college?

Question:
I don't know what to take for college this fall. My hobbies are drawing, surfing the internet, collecting rocks and coins. I am thinking about something dealing with computers, but will I be able to find a job in the field I study for if I take computers? Some have said that I should take Graphic design. I just don't know what to do. I have looked at the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Occupational Outook Handbook, just not enough. I even almost had Devry University talk my into doing their Game and Simulation course online. They said it would be good because I would learn the computer language C++ and the also said tha Devry has a 91% placement rate and that employers sometimes hire Devry students while still in school. I am so confused about my life. And I just turned 35. My friend said I could get loans from the government and have enough left over to pay for rent, etc.

Answer:
Go with DeVry - I am a DeVry student and the school has REALLY good rep with the gaming industry.

I know you may not know what you want to do with yourself but if you take a step in the direction of something - at least you can say you went somewhere. If you continue to just stand where you are and not take a change at something - you will surely go no where. You may as well just give up the idea of going to college and start flipping McBarf patties for a living.

Remembered - Nothing ventured - nothing gained..

I wish you all the luck with your decision.

If you still cannot decide what to do - enlist into the military and work in the IT field. At least that way you will get some kind of training that you can build on and you serve your country at the same time. Oh - not to mention the fact that the GI Bill is nice to have to help fund college... Your only obstacle - however - is your age. You will need a waiver.

Good luck!
The reasons why you are confused about your future is that you were not properly guided at the time when you were learning and searching the professional qualification. Now you are 35, which means that you have almost crossed the limit of selection of profession. In my opinion you should concentrate on computer graphics. This field is very much fertile and as you have already some background of computer, it will be very easy for you to enhance your knowledge and own a good and effective professionalism. Good Luck,.
- computer programer career shot to be a SE they make good bank
- regular programmer be prepared to work very long hours
- graphic design can be difficult and you can cap out on salery easily if you are not extremely talented... also be prepared to work very long hours

My best advice is take any class that has to do with money...
and take any class that has to do with interacting with people... people skills and money mangment skills are a good combo...
