Sales and Leasing Consultant?

Question:
I was recently offered a job via monster.com, when a local auto dealership has asked me to be a sales and leasing consultant.
But I don't have a clue of what this is.
I have a college degree, with experience in computer programs. I am guessing it has something to do with finacing a car or something.

but I need more info. this isn't the job where a guy wanders around the lot and tries to convince people to buy, is it?

Answer:
Its a sales job. The term "consultant" has come into vogue lately as a euphemism to make sales people feel better about their jobs. You will most likely be required to get customers to either buy or lease vehicles at the rates being offered by your company's auto credit program. There may be minor outcomes calculations among finance packages, but have no doubts- its a commissioned, quota-bearing sales gig.
A sales and leasing consultant sells and leases cars. You would not want that position. If you have a college degree and experience with computers I don't think you would be happy selling cars.

Just a question for you, why didn't you ask the person that offered you the job? Even if it was offered over the Internet I would think you could get a better job description.
