Question:
I have 2 bachelors from a respected brick & mortar college, and a MPH from an accredited albeit online school (Walden).I want to get into teaching via a M.A.T. in biology (one of my undergraduate). I would like to get my degree w/o quitting my current job, so my two big options are A) attend a brick and mortar college near me that has decent name recognition in my area (Agnes Scott) but is not NCATE accredited (a big teaching school accredidation) or attend Western Governors University which does have NCATE accrediation, but it's a (non-profit) all online school (you do your teaching experience off line, obviously, but all courses are online).
SO, do I go with a brick and mortar that is a decent enough school without the accredidation, or the online university with it? I know that ppl don't take online degrees as seriously as brick &mortar ones, but I don't know how the education field views NCATE or Western Gov.
Thoughts?
Answer:
I have both online bachelor and master's degrees and I am going to get my PH.D. online also from Walden University...I'll get back to this question later...
