Students online for classes; numbers are increasing?
Question:
Six months after the demise of a rule that had prevented most online institutions from participating in federal financial-aid programs, few colleges have taken advantage of the change. . . . Michael P. Lambert, executive director of an accrediting agency called the Distance Education and Training Council, said colleges do not want to rush into Title IV eligibility, for fear of making a mistake. They want to make sure they can handle the requirements first, he said. "We are going about this very slowly and very deliberately," Mr. Lambert said. "Consequently our schools are taking their time."
Answer:
I'm currently taking classes online. I'm 2 semesters away from receiving my Bachelor's degree. For me, online classes are convenient. I can log on when I have the time and upload my assignments at my convenience. I live in New York. Right now in New York the temperature is 9 degrees. I would HATE to have to go out this evening in this weather to go to class.
