First Job after college question?
Question:
Answer:
Get employed as quickly as you can and start paying your bills. You can always continue to look for other jobs. From experience I can tell you that your first job won't be your dream job and you won't have the luxury of being picky until you have some full-time paid work experience on your resume. I have hired lots of entry level positions and the person with the most work experience gets the job since the bachelors degree just get you in the door.
Take whatever you can get , and look for a better job in the meantime.
Make up a budget with what you need to live on (including your student loan payments, entertainment, and living expenses, etc.). Keep these numbers handy as you begin to get offers. DO NOT accept a job without health insurance benefits. Also, think carefully before accepting one without a decent match on the 401k. These are the basic necessities. Once those are covered, it's up to you to pick your priorities. Don't expect to find the perfect job right away. Try to only take a job you can commit to for at least a year, but don't stay if it's absolutely miserable. Remember, even a less than ideal entry-level position could be in your favor if it gets you into a company you love or if it gives you experience in a field you love. Don't reply on posting your resume online to find your first job. Most of the calls will probably be a waste of time. Be proactive and look for jobs that interest you. These are just some of my thoughts:)
