I haven't played Magic The Gathering in a decade ... Any tips for learning again online?
Question:
Answer:
For reading articles and getting acquainted with the rules again I suggest the following sites: http://www.magicthegathering.com... http://www.starcitygames.com http://www.brainburst.com They each have daily articles, MTG.com has The Gatherer, which has a list of all the MTG cards and sets, and StarCity has an Ask The Judge section that has a ton of ruling questions.
For online software there are two main programs: (Magic Work Station)http://www.magicworkstation.com... and (Apprentice) http://www.magic-league.com/download/app... . MWS has a lot more features and even full downloadable artwork, but is more buggy while Apprentice is more or less bug free but very "plain". MWS also has a built in server that you can play others on, but I suggest you try out one of the free gaming leagues out there such as: http://www.magic-league.com and http://www.o-gaming.com
Wizards also released a MTG Online version. Although you can login and look at past tournament results and tournaments in progress, it cost money to purchase (digital cards) to play. I personally play on MTGO but it is pretty expensive. If you have any other questions just let me know :)
I'm not sure about free sites but you can try going to the magic the gathering home page and look around it. Best thing to do is go to a local tournament and watch then ask some of the players about the new sets and cards. You can always buy the ninth edition core set starter and play the starter disk. I'm not sure if any of this will help but this is all i know at the moment. Just go to www.magicthegathering.com
Well i play MTGO and since i hadn't played in a while i just got a deck and played until i got good on it again. Also watch other players play to make it easy.
